Best for: Anyone about to click “book” and unsure which product they need
The three NT fee systems for Tjoritja / West MacDonnell — entry, camping and overnight Larapinta fees — kept separate, with official booking links only.
Never treat a third-party table (including this site) as live prices. Confirm on NT Parks before you pay.
Entry pass ≠ camping ≠ Larapinta overnight trail fee. Buy only what you will actually use.
Standley Chasm is a fourth, private system. Parks Pass does not cover it.
Best for: Self-drivers connecting Tjoritja with Watarrka / Kings Canyon
The unsealed Red Centre Way / Mereenie Loop is a permit road, not a shortcut. High-clearance 4WD, corrugations, no camping on the Loop, and a different park at the far end.
Mereenie Loop is unsealed, corrugated, and can be impassable after rain.
Transit permit required (Aboriginal land). Tourism Central Australia publishes $5 per vehicle, valid 3 days (checked 14 Aug 2026 — confirm at purchase).
Best for: Self-drivers who overloaded Namatjira Drive from Alice Springs
You planned Simpsons, Standley, Ellery, Ormiston and Sonder from Alice in one daylight window — decision order for cutting the day without a dusk drive.
Simpsons Gap is about 20 minutes from Alice; Ormiston is about two hours sealed each way — they are not adjacent lookouts.
If you are already late or hot at Simpsons, the Pound is off for that start. Do not “make it up” by skipping lunch.
Pick one remaining product: easy corridor (Ellery) or abort to Alice. Standley Chasm is private and not a free consolation.
Best for: Groups at Ormiston Gorge whose Pound loop is no-go
The Ormiston Pound loop currently requires a short swim through deep cold water, or the Pound floor is already cooking — decision order at the same car park without inventing Sonder.
Official park-open (checked 14 Aug 2026): the Pound loop currently requires a short swim through deep, cold water — do not start if you will not swim.
Heat on the Pound floor is a second, separate abort. Little shade until the gorge.
Same-car-park Plan B: Ghost Gum Lookout and/or the main waterhole there-and-back — official note: the Ghost Gum loop can also require swimming/wading.
